About FleetComplianceHQ

FleetComplianceHQ is an independent guide to US trucking compliance, built for carriers running 1–25 trucks.

Trucking compliance is scattered across dozens of FMCSA pages, state DOT sites, and forums full of conflicting advice — written for lawyers and compliance officers, not for the person actually running the truck. This website exists to close that gap, with plain-English explanations of what is genuinely required, what is optional, and what is simply internet myth.

What This Website Does

FleetComplianceHQ covers the full journey of running a small trucking company — from forming the business, through obtaining operating authority, staying compliant day to day, passing audits, and growing beyond the first truck. Every regulatory claim published here is verified directly against primary sources: FMCSA.gov, the Code of Federal Regulations, and the Federal Register, rather than summarized from other blogs.

What This Website Doesn't Do

FleetComplianceHQ is not a law firm, a compliance consultancy, or a government agency, and it does not sell compliance services. Where a provider can help with something outside that scope — insurance, factoring, ELDs, or permit filing — readers are directed to independent, factual profiles in the Provider Navigator. No provider is ever ranked or recommended over another; the profiles present the facts and leave the decision to the reader.

How This Website Is Funded

FleetComplianceHQ is free to use. It is supported by advertising and affiliate partnerships — see the Affiliate Disclosure for exactly how that works and why it does not influence the content published here.
