A ranking is only as sound as the criteria behind it, and on a site funded partly through referral relationships those criteria are precisely what a reader cannot audit. Profiles therefore state what each company publishes, mark clearly what it does not disclose, and stop there. Where a provider does not publish rates or contract terms, the profile says so rather than estimating.
Assessing a provider
Obtain pricing in writing, including setup fees, per-transaction charges, and termination terms. Establish contract length and the exit process. For compliance services, confirm exactly which part of the obligation the vendor assumes: legal responsibility for compliance remains with the carrier regardless of who performs the work. Verify any regulatory claim made during a sales conversation against the regulation itself.
